Fr. Patrick Rushe, Adm, was joined by Fr. Paul Montague CC and a modest congregation for the 8.30pm Easter Vigil Mass. The opening rites included the blessing of the Easter Fire, and the Paschal Candle, following which the procession led the light into the darkend Church where the exultet was proclaimed in song. The Liturgy of the Word guided us through the history of our salvation ending with the proclamation of the Gospel which told of Christ's resurrection. Following the renewal of Baptismal Promises by the whole congregation, the baptisms took place. The Liturgy then followed the usual pattern as we celebrated the Mass through to the distribution of Holy Communion. On Easter Sunday morning, we gathered on the green in front of the Church to celebrate the first 'Dawn Mass' in the area (for some years), and about 120 attended. It was a beautiful occasion. Fr. Paddy thanked everyone who participated and prepared for the Easter Triduum Liturgies this year, they were indeed such a blessing for the Parish.
